Who we are
In July 2024, excited to begin my journey towards healing, I contacted the private practice of a full-time government-employed psychiatrist in Northern Colorado. He claimed to offer telepsychotherapy, medication management prescribed judiciously, and a female therapist, initially undisclosed as his wife, purporting to be trauma-informed. It seemed ideal. Little did I know that the psychological abuse I endured from those two was just the beginning of a year of sordid dealings with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and ultimately—the justice system.
The majority of the mental health professionals I sought help from caused more harm. To the precious few who upheld professional standards while building a collaborative therapeutic environment, I am eternally grateful for your kindness, compassion, and dedication to furthering your craft. Thank you for seeing me as an individual and treating me as an equal.
